Wesley Methodist Church WWI Honour Rolls

HAMILTON’S WESLEYAN METHODIST CHURCH

The Wesley Methodist Church opened in Lonsdale Street, Hamilton, in October 1913. Within a year, members of the congregation were farewelled as they headed off to war. Now Hamilton Uniting Church, there are two Honour Rolls, on which 52 men and one woman were named. Twelve would not return.

REYNOLDS, S. G.-Articles from the Hamilton Spectator mention the enlistment of S. G. Reynolds, a member of the Hamilton YMCA. However, there is no record of a man with those initials enlisting.

REYNOLDS, F. A.-F. Reynolds competed in a YMCA swimming competition, as did an A. Reynolds. There is no record of a F. A. Reynolds enlisting. Frank Reynolds is named on the 1919 Electoral Roll for Hamilton.
